Controls Engineer
Job Purpose:
- This position involves the design, implementation and management of Automation projects
- Ability to design and troubleshoot programs for PLC’s and HMI’s of various manufactures
- Proficiency with the full line of Rockwell Automation software and Allen Bradley hardware
Controls Engineer Duties and Responsibilities
- Demonstrated ability to proactively manage multiple projects and deliver on commitments and deadlines.
- Willingness to split time between office design work and field troubleshooting / startup work
- Working knowledge of 480V/110V power distribution
- Working understanding of process controls and machine controls
- Ability to interpret P&ID/Electrical Schematics and experience with basic instrumentation
- Working knowledge of frequency drives, DC drives, servo drives
- Working knowledge of varying degree of machine and process safety requirements and circuits
Controls Engineer Qualifications
- Years of “hands on” experience in the design, development, troubleshooting and commissioning of electric and electronic systems for industrial applications
- Experience using CAD software to generate electrical schematic drawings (AutoCAD Electrical preferred)
- Experience with WonderWare software
- Experience with Ethernet, DeviceNet, ControlNet, DH+, DH485, Remote IO, Profibus and Serial Networks
- Experience with CGMP validation, quality systems, document control and FDA regulations
- Experience with Siemens programming software and hardware.
- Experience with GE Intelligent Platforms software and hardware
- Experience with Visual Basic
- Experience with factory floor data collection and databases
- Experience with robot integration
- Experience with Vision systems
Controls Engineer Work Hours
- Hours are typically Monday through Friday
- Hours are typically 1st shift
Controls Engineer Work Conditions:
- Typically working on a variety of work sites
