Since 1964, Buist Electric has been committed to “Raising the Standard” in the electrical industry.

We are dedicated to the highest ethical standards and strive to put our employees’ needs first. This philosophy results in unparalleled productivity, competence, and service for you, our valued customers. It works.

At Buist Electric, we operate for the short and long-term benefits of our employees and seek to help them achieve their personal and professional goals. This results in a team whose enthusiasm and dedication to excellence is communicated to customers who notice and appreciate the difference.

GOD: Honor Him in all we do.

EMPLOYEES: Consider their well-being as essential.

CUSTOMERS: Provide them with superior service.

OTHERS: Share our resources.

TRUST IN THE LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.

Proverbs 3:5-6 (ESV)

On December 29, 2005, Buist Electric became an employee owned company. Each employee shares in the rewards of being part of a successful organization.

At Buist Electric, we consider it part of our mission and our responsibility to share our resources with those in our community. Two of the major ways we do this are through the Buist Foundation – a ministry established and run by employees of Buist, and the Buist Community Assistance Center. Other ways we share our resources are through corporate giving, volunteer projects, and various other charitable givings.

“And if you give yourself to the hungry and satisfy the desire of the afflicted, then your light will rise in darkness and your gloom will become like midday.” Isaiah 58:10 -NASB

Be The Light
At Buist Electric, our employees have always had the gifts of compassion and service. It is part of who Buist Electric is! There is a long history of helping other employees and people who God has put in our path, as touched on in the video testimonials you just watched. In 2015, BE the Light was officially started to continue building on that core principle and to provide 6-10 volunteer opportunities a year for employees and their families. We exist to bless others with our time and resources. The way people step up to serve in such a fun, variety of ways is truly amazing!
Buist Community Assistance Center
The Buist Community Assistance Center is an outreach to the local community. We provide assistance in the form of a food pantry, new and gently used clothing, furniture and household items to those in need. BCAC is also equipped to help with minor home repairs and maintenance, financial and spiritual guidance.

The Buist Foundation
The Buist Foundation exists to serve, from a Christian perspective, the needs of those that find themselves in a difficult position financially. Our clients need help with house payments, rent, insurance, utilities, food, clothing, medical bills, medicine, auto repairs and much more. This foundation is unique in its ability to provide immediate assistance when necessary.

Safety is a key part of any successful project. Our safety program uses education, hands on training, and job site inspections to ensure that we are doing everything we can to create a safe work site for our employees, other trades and our customers.

NFPA 70E Classes
NFPA 70E provides specific standards for employee protection, specifically protection from an arc flash. We realize the dangers involved in working on energized electrical systems and take every precaution to protect employees and our customers. Training includes an understanding of dangers associated with working on energized systems, understanding of the appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment) required when working on energized systems, and the proper documentation and permitting when working on energized systems.
Safety Policy
We have a written safety policy outlining all areas of safety concern and what we require and expect from our employees. There are clear guidelines and written consequences for not adhering to our safety policy. This safety policy is constantly reviewed and addenda are written to keep up with current standards and new equipment requirements.
Safety Inspections
We conduct routine safety inspections on all of our jobs. These inspections are performed by our full-time Safety Director and are also the responsibility of our project supervisors each time they visit the site. These inspections are followed up with a written report given to the project foreman with clear instructions on any violations requiring immediate action.
Safety Training
We have initiated the following safety programs: Fall Protection, High Voltage, Aerial Lift Certification, Lockout/Tagout, Forklift Certification, Trailer Pulling, Confined Space, Power Actuated Tools, CPR/First Aid, Proper Cadweld Applications. **All field employees are CPR/First Aid trained and certified (company policy).
